OBJECTIVE

Create a University of Oregon Police Department

The University of Oregon seeks to enhance campus safety through the implementation of a community-oriented, trust-based policing model that is culturally aligned and accountable to the campus community.

To achieve this objective the university through the Oregon University System (OUS) has proposed legislative action that will permit the University of Oregon to create it's own police department with the ability to employ state certified police officers.

This website will be updated to provide the campus community with current information related to this legislative initiative. In addition, this site provides a conduit for the campus community to comment on the campus policing statute legislative concept.
